CLEVELAND (June 29, 2010) — Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today that Inajo Davis Chappell has been selected as one of this year’s “Women of Note” by Crain’s Cleveland Business. Each year the publication honors 12 women who have made an impact on Northeast Ohio’s business community. According to the publication, the special section “shines a spotlight on women who not only are leaders at their companies and organizations, but who have risen above adversity and, most importantly, the so-called ’glass ceiling.’ They have shown courage and perseverance.”

As an attorney with Ulmer & Berne, Ms. Chappell chairs the Firm’s Nonprofit Group, representing nonprofit entities as well as for-profit businesses and public institutions. Her legal expertise focuses on various aspects of corporate law and corporate governance, general business transactions, and commercial real estate acquisition, development, construction and financing. In addition to serving as bond and company counsel to a variety of government and corporate clients, she has particular expertise representing school districts in the provision of educational programming and services to disabled students.

An active civic and community leader, Ms. Chappell serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including her current involvement on the boards of the Cleveland Leadership Center, Ohio Board of Voting Machine Examiners, Cuyahoga County Board of Elections and Medical Mutual of Ohio Charitable Foundation.
